At Unity Performing Arts Studio, our journey began in 2014 when we were known as The Little Ballet Company (LBC Dance Studio). From humble beginnings, we quickly grew into a thriving Cairns dance studio offering a broad range of professional dance classes for every skill level.
Our focus has always been on our core values: inclusiveness, kindness, positivity, and mutual respect. Every class is taught in a supportive, non-competitive environment, ensuring that every student feels welcome and empowered.
In 2021, we embarked on an exciting new chapter by merging with Centre Stage Dance Studios. Under the visionary leadership of Sabine Zavari, we combined our strengths into one vibrant studio in 2022, adopting the fresh new name Unity Performing Arts Studio. Even as we've expanded, we remain committed to keeping our class sizes small. This allows our passionate teachers to get to know every student personally, tailoring lessons to help each child thrive and shine.
At Unity Performing Arts Studio, classical ballet remains at the heart of our curriculum. We are proud to be the only school in Cairns offering ballet classes in the world-renowned Russian Vaganova style, following the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet syllabus. The Vaganova method is celebrated globally as the gold standard in classical ballet training and is taught at professional dance academies around the world. Complementing our classical ballet offerings are classes in character dance and classical repertoire, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching dance education.
Our studio is more than just a place to learn dance—it’s a home for all the performing arts. Whether it’s dancing, singing, drama, or music, we provide a supportive creative space for every budding artist. In addition to our dance classes, students can also take private singing and instrumental lessons right on our premises, creating a true centre for the performing arts community.
Each year, we celebrate the talents and hard work of our students with a spectacular end-of-year concert. These shows are a fun, exciting opportunity for your child to experience the thrill of performing in a professional production, exploring every creative aspect of dance and performance in a joyful, family-friendly setting.
