
YASMIN LANCINI
Singing, Drama, Piano and Guitar Teacher
Yasmin has completed a Bachelor of Theatre, specializing in
Musical Theatre, at Central Queensland University. Graduating
in 2014 with a Distinction, her studies provided training in vocal,
dance and acting.
Yasmin has also completed exams in AMEB Singing and Music
Theory, and plays the piano and guitar. Along with singing and
instrument training, she has studied Jazz, Tap, Classical Ballet,
and HipHop Dance.
Yasmin has experience on stage in many productions, the latest of
which was the lead role of Elphaba in Cairns Choral Society's 2019 production
of "Wicked". Others include Guys and Dolls, 42nd Street, The Producers,
Chicago and Chess. She was also Con Academy Assistant and
Stage Manager at the Central Qld Conservatorium of Music,
which gave her experience in teaching children in singing,
dancing and acting.
Yasmin has worked professionally in a variety of stage and touring
shows, as an actor, singer, director, host and script writer. She has
worked with the Queensland Police Crime Prevention Unit on a
show that toured regional Queensland Schools.
KRYSTAL DUFF-WEEKES
Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Cheerleading and Modern Teacher
Trained in dance from an early age with Sandra, Krystal has studied classical ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, hip hop, drama, singing, acrobatics and national character. After competing successfully in many eisteddfods over the years, and on completing high school, Krystal was accepted in 2004 to study at Brent Street Studios in Sydney.
After living in Sydney, and travelling abroad, she is now home in Cairns raising a family and teaching Classical Ballet, Tap and Modern, and coaching Cheer and Acrobatics.
Krystal has also had much experience performing in the Cairns Choral Society annual productions over the years, such as "Cats" and "Legally Blonde the Musical". The latest of which was "Mamma Mia", and she has stepped up to be Choreographer!
Krystal holds a Certificate 4 in Performing Arts and is a fully qualified and registered teacher with the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet, and holds her Cheer Coaching credentials. Krystal has a love of dance and children, and loves passing on her years of dance training to the students at Centre Stage Dance Studios.


KATHY NEWMAN
Tap, Modern & Cheerleading Teacher
Kathy started Ballet training at age 6 in South Australia, and also went on to Callisthenics, Modern and Drill Dance, and Tap. She registered with the FATD as an Elementary Graduate and has taught Eisteddfod and concert routines, AFL performance shows and other local performances for both ‘The Dance Theatre’ in Hobart, and ‘Darwin Dance & Drama Academy’ in the Northern Territory.
Kathy was a team member of the Australian Dance and Drill Team from 1990-1997 and performed at F1 Grand Prix functions, SA Police Band, SANFL football half-time shows and Adelaide Christmas Pageants. Annual auditions to remain in the team were mandatory. Kathy has represented Australia with the Australian Dance & Drill Team, touring America & Hawaii in 1992 and performing in the opening and closing performances at the 25th American Drill & Dance Competitions in Los Angeles.
Kathy also danced with the team in Nagoya, Japan, at the International Dance & Drill Competitions (1993, 1994) and retained World Champions title both years.
Kathy was a dancer with the Adelaide Promotional Dance Team, and was a professional cheerleader for the Adelaide Rams Rugby Super League.
Other cheerleading jobs include: Adelaide 36’s Basketball Team, Norwood Football Club, Chiefs Grid-Iron Club and Ravens Netball League.
In 2019 Kathy trained with the Dance Health Alliance Team and is an Endorsed and Certified Teacher focusing on dancers with movement restrictions. Kathy has a wealth of experience to pass onto students and we are delighted to have her as part of the Centre Stage team.
RHIANNE REES
Cheerleading, Tap, Modern and Acro Teacher
Rhianne hit the stage at age 2, and never left! She has a passion for performing and loves being able to share this passion with her students. Rhianne has studied classical ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, hip hop, drama, singing, acrobatics and cheer. After competing successfully in many eisteddfods over the years, Rhianne successfully auditioned, and studied at Jason Coleman's Ministry of Dance in Melbourne.
Rhianne has also had much experience performing in the Cairns Choral Society annual productions over the years, such as "Wicked" and "Legally Blonde the Musical".
The latest of which was "Mamma Mia".
Rhianne is a fully qualified in both tap and jazz and is also a qualified Cheerleading coach. She has competed and coached at many local and interstate competitions with great success.
With over 10 years of teaching experience and over 20 years performing, Rhianne has a wealth of knowledge to share, loves being a part of the team at Centre Stage Dance Studios.
